Aneka Ingold is an America artist living and working in Tampa Florida. She received her Masters in Fine Arts degree from Kendall College of Art and Design in Grand Rapids Michigan. Ingold’s artwork consists of ambiguous and alluring narratives revolving around the the female experience. Her process integrates flat color and pattern with realism. She specializes in mixed media techniques, combining drawing and painting processes.
Her work has been in exhibited and recognized nationally. Ingold was the inaugural recipient of the $50,000 Bennett Prize. The award is designed to propel the careers of women artists working in the figurative realist style. It is the largest art award ever offered solely to women painters. She was also named one of the ten finalists for The 9th Annual Manifest Prize-One award by Manifest Creative Research and Drawing Center, which aims to reward, showcase, celebrate, and document the most exceptional artwork being made today. In 2023, Ingold received Best of Show in the exhibition, SHE, at Art Fluent Gallery, as well as Special Merit Award in the Figural Competition for the publication Art and Color 365. In 2016 Ingold was awarded First Place by Juror Carrie Ann Baade, at the Valdosta National All-Media Juried Competition at Dedo Maranville Fine Arts Gallery, Valdosta State University, Georgia. Her work was also selected by Juror Elizabeth McGrath for the Surreal Salon 8, at Baton Rouge Center for Contemporary Art, presented by Juxtapoz magazine. In 2015 Ingold was the Grand Prize Winner at the Vying show during Miami Art Basel, at Viophilia Gallery in Wynwood.
Ingold’s work has been featured in many art publications including American Art Collector, International Artist, Fine Art Connoisseur, New Visionary Magazine and INDA: International Drawing Annual, presented by Manifest. The Annual is designed to support the recognition, documentation, and publication of excellent, current, and relevant works of drawing from around the world. Her work has also been published in the drawing textbook Drawing Essentials: A Guide to Drawing from Observation, by Deborah Rockman.
